A farmer in Kalumbila District has harvested 150 tonnes of maize from 15 hectares, producing 3,000 bags of 50 kilogrammes each.
Bonnie Kalota, who has been part of Kansanshi Mining PLC’s Sustainable Agriculture Programme since 2022, says the harvest will boost his household income while contributing to local food supply.
Kansanshi Agriculture Administrator Sydney Musemangeji said the programme is aimed at helping farmers increase productivity and improve household incomes.
